See you on the 7th…
After months of hype and rumour and speculation over that sodding headphone port, Apple have officially announced that their new smartphone – the iPhone 7 – will be unveiled at their keynote event in San Francisco on September 7.
Apple are also expected to show off a new thinner laptop, a faster iPad display to work with Apple Pencil, and 5K monitors in among their keynote speech.
An update for the Apple Watch is also expected, with reports suggesting that new models will add in faster internals and GPS, to add with tracking fitness. The new Apple watch could also boast a camera Apple looks to manoeuvre the device away from messaging.
But for many the highlight of the event will be a look at the latest iPhone, which is expected to, controversially, come without a headphone port.
The new iPhone models are expected to come in multiple flavours, similar to the iPhone 5, 5S and 5C range. All of the smartphones are believed to be more water resistant, with the larger phone in the range reported to have a dual camera system for taking better photos.
It is believed that Apple may finally do away with the 16GB entry model and move up to a 32GB model as standard.
The grand unveiling will take place at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco at 10am local time. For UK viewers, they can watch the keynote from the Apple website from 6pm BST on Wednesday, September 7.
