Battery life has always been an issue for the iPhone…
One of the most irritating things about your iPhone is the ability of your battery life to descend from healthy to critical in a matter of minutes, and if it hits the 20% mark, you may as well just forget about it altogether.
But now, Apple wants to turbo charge your battery life through the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence).
Ina recent interview with the Nikkei Asian Review, CEO of Apple Tim Cook discussed how the company wants to roll out AI in all its devices to improve them.
While the use of voice technology like Siri is already used on iPhones, AI can also do a whole range of things that many people don’t realise.
“[Artificial intelligence] is horizontal in nature, running across all products. We want the AI to increase your battery life,” he said.
Earlier this year Google announced that it had integrated AI into its data centres with power savings topping 40% as the AI figured out the most efficient way of completing tasks.
With the iPhone battery currently lasting about a day during frequent use, a 40% increase on battery life could be hugely significant for users in the future.
