The film came out a whole decade ago
Kanye West has claimed that he spoke to Quentin Tarantino about his “Django” concept for his ‘Gold Digger’ music video, “and then Tarantino turned it into a film”.
The rapper and entrepreneur in a new interview accused the director, along with actor Jamie Foxx, of stealing his idea.
Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Ye claimed that he had pitched the “Django” idea to Tarantino and Foxx as the music video for his 2005 hit ‘Gold Digger’.
In 2012, Tarantino released the revisionist Western Django: Unchained about a freed slave (played by Foxx) who works with a bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) to rescue his wife from a plantation.
“Tarantino can write a movie about slavery where – actually him and Jamie [Foxx], they got the idea from me because the idea for ‘Django’ I pitched to Jamie Foxx and Quentin Tarantino as the video for ‘Gold Digger’. And then Tarantino turned it into a film,” West claimed to Morgan.
Neither Tarantino nor Foxx have responded publicly to Ye’s claims.

JOE has contacted Tarantino’s representatives for comment.
In a number of teaser clips shared ahead of the airing of the interview this weekend, the two unsurprisingly battled with each other to make their voices heard. And, according to Piers – himself an expert in walking out – it all got too much in one instance for the hitmaker.
Morgan claims that West, legally known as Ye, walked out of the interview, with the production team then facing “quite a struggle to come and get him back.”
"I will say I'm sorry for the people I hurt…
"Hurt people hurt people, and I was hurt."

But return he did.
He said: “I’m glad I did because we ended up getting to where I think in his mind he wanted to get to. I think he wanted to atone for what he had done and the damage he had caused. But he was too fired up and too proud to actually go there until we got towards the end.”
Piers had confronted Ye on his anti-Semitic tweet in which he wrote: “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.”
It apparently took West more than two hours to apologise for the tweet, but only after he labelled Morgan a ‘Karen’ and told you “you don’t hold accountability to the pain”.
Piers fired back: “I’m not a Karen and I’m not going to cancel you and I’m not going to censor you, I’m simply going to challenge you on what you’re saying.”
