Playing video games is actually good for your brain, according to science.
We’ll be more specific.
Consistent video game habits can be good for your brain, according to a study by researchers from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and Macquarie University in Sydney.
The conclusion was reached after MRI scans on the brains of the 27 Action Video Gamers – national or regional champions – in which scientists looked at the parts of the brain that reflect perception, attention and motor control.
Those who regularly play fighting, shooting or racing games, had ‘greater connections between different sub-regions and networks of the brain,’ according to Elite Daily.
Action Video Gamers, or AVGs, also had more grey matter – signifying greater cognitive function and memory.
So there you have it; the more Grand Theft Auto you play, the better your chances of getting into MENSA.
Yay science!
