It wasn’t Warren Beatty, Leonardo Di Caprio or Steve Harvey.
We’re still laughing at the colossal f**k-up that diminished the spotlight on Moonlight’s remarkable achievement at the Academy Awards.
Let’s face it, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway’s presentation of the award for Best Picture will always be remembered.
Despite the fact that Barry Jenkins’s film is an absolutely wonderful piece of cinema, the joy obtained from winning the Oscar was cheapened by the fact that the producers of La La Land actually started to read out their ‘winning’ speeches beforehand.
You can see the whole unedited version of events below.
This whole thing was not Moonlight's fault. The Jackson 5 were very clear about that.

Since that infamous moment, various different outlets have speculated about the culprit behind the gaffe. In fact, some people have even suggested that Leonardo DiCaprio deliberately sabotaged the Oscars as some sort of payback for the fact that he had to endure a wait before winning an Oscar.
Ha, they might as well accuse Ronald McDonald or the iceberg from Titanic.
While a rogue move from DiCaprio would make a good film, we’re sad to say that the truth is far more mundane and accurate.
TMZ and the Wall Street Journal have discovered that culprit is PriceWaterhouseCoopers managing partner Brian Cullinan, who made the error just minutes after taking and tweeting a photo of Emma Stone clutching her Best Actress statue.
He has since deleted this tweet.
Speaking with USA Today, a spokesperson for PriceWaterHouse confirmed the human error ”At the end of the day we made a human error. We made a mistake. What happened was, our partner on the left side of the stage, Brian Cullinan, he handed the wrong envelope to Warren Beatty. And then the second we realized that we notified the appropriate parties and corrected the mistake.”
See kids, there’s a lesson here and it’s always pay attention at work.
This guy literally had one job and he managed to mess it up.
