Louis Theroux’s wishlist of documentaries that he’d love to make is very interesting

We would love to see them made

Paul Moore

King Louis.

After Louis Theroux stated that ISIS is not exactly a safe subject for an upcoming documentary, the beloved broadcaster has been offering even more nuggets of information about his future plans.

With Theroux’s debut film My Scientology Movie set to open in the US, the documentarian was more than happy to answer some questions during a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) discussion to promote its release.

With three new BBC documentaries about to be released in 2017, Theroux is going to be a busy man over the coming months, but it appears that he still has an eye on his next project/issue/subject.

As you will know, it’s not uncommon to see Theroux revisit some of the same people/stories that he has previously examined, see his amazing work with the Westboro Baptist Church for an example of this, and Louis hasn’t ruled out a return to one of his most interesting documentaries, the Neo-Nazi movement in the U.S.

You might remember the 2003 documentary in which Louis travels to California to meet the man dubbed “the most dangerous racist in America”, Tom Metzger.

After Louis meets Metzger and hangs out with members of his inner circle, Theroux then embarks on a roadtrip to visit a skinhead rally. At this rally, a Nazi-pop folk band named Prussian Blue also made a memorable appearance.

Theroux hasn’t forgotten about Prussian Blue, Lynx and Lamb Gaede, because they’re very much in his thinking when it comes to a future documentary.

Music is definitely at the forefront of Theroux’s wishlist of projects because he also expressed an interest in looking at the life of the RnB artist R. Kelly.

In a very interesting Q&A, Theroux also discussed his scariest moments on screen, how he manages to stay calm as madness unfolds around him and more.

Sadly for anyone that loves Weird Weekends, he has no plans to go back to those episodes in the near future.

Have a read.
