Plot’s it all about?: For the third time in 15 years, our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has a new face behind the mask, but after seeing the latest footage, Tom Holland really seems like he has nailed what makes the character resonate so much.
Whip-smart, geeky-cool and a sense of fun are all on offer in the trailer footage and it’s clear that Spider-Man: Homecoming will have a very definitive place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the film, a young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.).
Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
While previous footage has gone heavy on the tone and Holland’s performance, this one is all action as we finally see the villains (Michael Keaton’s Vulture and Bokeem Woodbine’s Shocker) take centre stage.
Starring: Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Jon Favreau, Donald Glover, Tyne Daly with Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.
