Here are the 25 greatest films of the 21st century so far, according to critics

Paul Moore

How many have you seen?

Given that football fans only have the Confederations Cup to keep them ticking over for the next few days, it’s very likely that you’ll be binging on some TV and films over the next few weeks to keep you entertained.

After Empire revealed their list of the greatest films of all time, there’s more than enough titles for film fans to get stuck into, but if you need any more incentive to grab your movie buddy and make a date, this list of upcoming cinema releases should definitely win you over.

Baby Driver, All Eyez On Me, The House, Spider-Man: Homecoming, War for the Planet of the Apes and Dunkirk are all coming to your local cinema, but if you fancy a few nights on the couch, the New York Times have selected their best films of the 21st century so far.

In what’s a fairly eclectic list, there are some notable omissions like Whiplash, Spotlight, Let the Right One In, The Raid, Borat and countless others.

This being said, we’re very happy to see the likes of Boyhood, Mad Max: Fury Road and this year’s Best Picture winner, Moonlight, making the grade.

Here’s their list in full.
