Everyone’s talking about one issue with that racy scene in Game of Thrones

Paul Moore

The boat that rocked.

In case you need another alert,  spoilers are…eh-em, coming.

After all that brooding, flirting and insistence on bending the knee, it finally happened. Yes, Daenerys and her nephew Jon have embraced their Targaryen heritage and engaged in the incestuous beast with two backs.

Granted, a relationship of sorts was always likely to happen given the fact that they’re really, really, ridiculously good looking people, but happy endings are rarely guaranteed in Game of Thrones. Speaking of happy endings, any chance that Ser Davos gave Jon Snow some of that fermented crab before he headed into Dany’s bedroom?

Anyways, Jaime and Cersei have already shattered that ‘familial taboo’ with some truly heinous and warped sex scenes. The racy scenes featuring Jonerys were quite mild in comparison to other sex scenes that Game of Thrones fans have seen over the years.

Kit Harington said that “it was an inevitability from about halfway through the season that Jon and Daenerys would fall into bed together” while Emilia Clarke said the whole scene was “weird.”

This being said, Game of Thrones fans were slightly jarred by one narrative decision that the showrunners decided to use.

Since becoming the Three-Eyed Raven, Bran’s social skills have taken a bit of a down turn and it came as no surprise that he managed to influence this scene also.

Well, at least Jon and Dany had the decency to close the door.

We’re looking at you Grey Worm and Missandei.

Be honest, how many people were rooting for them to have sex? There’s something deeply wrong with us all.

Game of Thrones is great!

This pretty much sums up what’s going to happen if Bran and Jon ever meet again.

If you’re curious to what what Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington and Isaac Hempstead-Wright made of that scene, here you go.
