Looks like it’ll be an interesting new year in Weatherfield.
Coronation Street‘s Michelle Connor is in for a bit of a land in 2018 when her biological son Alex Neeson will return to the soap.
Michelle learned of his existence 10 years ago after it was revealed that a hospital mix-up meant that the son she had been raising, Ryan, wasn’t hers at all.
Alex, her real son, turned up and lived with Michelle briefly before leaving again in 2008.
We’ve heard very little about him since then but he’s coming back to start a job in the medical centre next year.
It won’t exactly be happy families, however, as he’ll want nothing to do with Michelle, reports the Sun.
“Ali settles himself in Weatherfield and seems happy to make friends with everyone else but gives his mum the cold shoulder,” a source said.
All will not be as it seems though as Alex, or Ali as he’ll be known now, will have an ulterior motive for coming back.
It’ll just be the latest in a string of bad luck for poor Michelle. In the past few years she’s suffered a miscarriage and seen her partner Steve McDonald have a baby with Leanne Battersby after a one night stand.
Now she’s supporting her partner Robert Preston through testicular cancer while also struggling financially due to his gambling debts.
To be honest, we don’t know how much more bad luck she can take but we still can’t wait to see what her son’s return will mean.
