We all know that Welsh place names are a little unusual compared to the rest of Britain.

It seems like sorcery to us when a Welsh person can rattle off a place like Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch without even breaking a sweat.

To non-Welsh speakers, the shortage of vowels can be extremely intimidating, so we have to congratulate anyone brave enough to take the language on.

That’s just what American Kahlan Rosenblatt did as she tried to pronounce some of the more difficult Welsh place names for Wales Online.

In fairness, she did no worse than any of us would…
