This could be a life-saver.
WhatsApp have expanded upon their ‘unsend message’ function. They have lengthened the ‘delete for everyone’ option from 420 seconds (seven minutes) to 4,096 seconds (one hour, eight minutes and 16 seconds), which seems oddly specific.
The latest patch (2.18.31) is available to download on iOS and Android right now.
A new WhatsApp for iOS update (2.18.31) is available on AppStore.
It is a bug fixes update, but it has the new “Delete for everyone” limit, that’s 1 hour, 8 minutes and 16 seconds.— WABetaInfo (@WABetaInfo) March 8, 2018
So this might help save the day when:
- Drunk texting, but not so drunk that you don’t realise you’ve just made a terrible mistake
- Talking about someone in a text, and then sending that text to that person
- Writing something that you think is funny, but then after pushing send you see a spelling mistake so you get to fix it before anyone notices
