A huge achievement for one of the GOAT.
Eminem has celebrated a decade of sobriety on social media, overcoming an addiction to prescription pills Vicodin, Valium and Ambien.
The 45-year-old rapper, who has sold 172,000,000 albums worldwide, showed off a chip he was given when he reached the milestone on social media. Adding the caption: “Celebrated my 10 years yesterday.”

He has previously revealed how his addiction brought him hours away from death after an overdose.
Speaking to The Fix, Eminem said: “Had I got to the hospital about two hours later, I would have died. My organs were shutting down. My liver, kidneys, everything. They didn’t think I was gonna make it. My bottom was gonna be death.”
He began on the road to sobriety after he checked himself into rehab in 2008 and started Alcoholic Anonymous’s 12-step program.
He also took up a health and fitness regime to focus him as he aimed to beat the habit.
“When I got out of rehab, I needed to lose weight, but I also needed to figure out a way to function sober,” he told Men’s Journal. “Unless I was blitzed out of my mind, I had trouble sleeping. So I started running. It gave me a natural endorphin high, but it also helped me sleep, so it was perfect. It’s easy to understand how people replace addiction with exercise. One addiction for another but one that’s good for them.”
Despite being a multi-millionaire award winner, it goes to show that anybody can struggle with the pains of addiction. Ten years sober is an amazing achievement for anybody from any walk of life.
