Game of Thrones’ actor is officially the World’s Strongest Man

Yeah but can he handle the poison spear of Oberyn Martell? The answer is no. No he can't.

BREAKING: Extremely large man is good at lifting things

Icelander Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, otherwise known as the Mountain after the nickname of his character in Game of Thrones, has been crowned champion at this year’s World’s Strongest Man competition in the Philippines.

The man who plays Gregor Clegane also does, physically, resemble a mountain, as he is 6 feet and 9 inches tall and is made up entirely of rocks. Remarkably he has entered World’s Strongest Man eight times, finishing in both second and third place before, but never taking home the official title of “Best Picker Upper of Really Heavy Objects Like Logs and Shit”.

In 2016 the actor told the New York Times that winning the competition was his dream and apparently if you have the genetics of Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War, dreams can come true.

Now he’s achieved his lifelong ambition, I can’t help but wonder what is next for Björnsson, aside from being a zombie bodyguard to Cersei Lannister in the last series of GOT. The official prediction? He joins Wycombe Wanderers, plays just off Adebayo Akinfenwa, and forms the most bulging strike partnership the English Football League has ever seen.
