Manchester City have been left a little light in the goalkeeping department
Following the departure of Joe Hart to Burnley, Claudio Bravo ruptured an achilles tendon earlier in the week – leaving City with no senior cover for first-choice goalkeeper, Ederson.
Although the transfer window has closed to English clubs, City may be allowed to bring in another goalkeeper on emergency loan so long as they receive special dispensation from the Premier League.
According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas could fit the bill for Pep Guardiola.
The Costa Rican has started for Real in their European Super Cup defeat to Atletico Madrid and the La Liga opener with Getafe. However, the summer arrival of Thibaut Courtois means he’s likely to lose his place in the coming weeks, despite making it known that he intends to stay and fight for his place.

Because of this, AS report that City have identified him as one of their first options should they decide to bring in another experienced goalkeeper.
However, it still seems unlikely that Navas’ move to Manchester will happen, regardless of whether or not the Premier League grant City permission to make an emergency loan deal.
Ederson’s impressive first year in England means Navas – despite his experience – would almost certainly be regarded as back-up to the Brazilian if he did complete a switch to the Etihad. Although he’s likely to take on a similar role in Madrid this season, his apparent willingness to stay and fight Courtois for the number one spot at the Bernabeu means he will almost certainly opt to stay put with the European champions.
