He’s set to play Mike Tyson in a biopic about the boxer’s life
Jamie Foxx has revealed the workout plan he has been following to bulk up for the role of Mike Tyson.
Nowadays, it’s extremely common for top film stars to take on a fresh training programme in preparation for the big screen. Chris Hemsworth, James McAvoy, Jake Gylenhaal and Hugh Jackman have all undergone seriously impressive physique transformations when getting ready for certain roles.
But when you’re set to play a mass monster such as Tyson – one of the most powerful heavyweight boxers of all time – you have to up the ante even further. And that’s what Jamie Foxx has been doing.
Jamie Foxx – who you have to say looks great for 52 – has been sharing some of his most recent progress pictures on social media. He’s been hitting the gym hard over the last few months, despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Foxx’s workout post pretty much confirmed that the Mike Tyson biopic is going ahead. Previously, it had just been in the pipeline for a few years.

Foxx said: “It is no secret that I have been pursuing the @miketyson biopic for some time. People always ask me when is it going to happen? Things have finally lined up.”
Speaking specifically about the kind of workout routine he’s been following, Foxx said the most difficult task is getting started.
“The first but biggest task is to transform the body,” he said.
When it comes to the workout routine, Foxx has been building up with the basics: bodyweight exercises.
