‘How long will I be haunted by this?’
A new mum has been left completely distraught after catching her friend breastfeeding her newborn not once, but twice.
Afiqah Hasanah says that the incident occurred when she had her hands full at a family event so turned to her friend for help.
The mum believed her friend would look after her son, Haider.
In a video, Afiqah explained: “I was busy carrying things, and when I arrived, she asked me for Haider, so I just gave him [to her] because she was someone close to me.
“Suddenly while I was carrying those things, I saw that she was, like, doing something at the back in an open hall.
“Turns out, she was breastfeeding Haider.”
Afiqah confronted her friend who said “her excuse was Haider was crying” but claims it was still unacceptable.
She said: “Which mother can accept her baby being directly breastfed by someone else while the mother herself has breastmilk?
“I didn’t expect that she could do such a thing.
“I was so stressed I felt like crying… this has destroyed my trust in people. How long will I be haunted by this?”
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the mum then confessed she caught her friend doing it again. She said: “Now I’m having a tough time shaking it off my mind.”
The video has since received around 3 million views and has countless comments sympathetic to the mum.
One person wrote: “How can someone even do that without thinking!? It’s so frustrating to hear this.” Another wrote: “New fear unlocked.”
A third commented: “Got to be careful with people like that. Get ready to keep the child away whenever she’s around.”
