When women talk about fantasies you probably imagine something a bit naughty.
But more than half of women have a rather unusual fantasy – and it’s not related to threesomes, ex-boyfriends or even One Direction.
Nope. A whopping 53% of women regular imagine what it would be like to split from their partner.
Yep – they sit there and daydream about dumping us and moving on with their lives. Charming.
This is according to a poll by Women’s Health which examined what couples argue about the most.
While it wasn’t directly related to couples’ fighting habits, it was an interesting little nugget and correlates with a recent Stanford University study which revealed that 69% of divorces are instigated by the wives.
Speaking about the result, Laura Doyle, intimacy expert and author of First, Kill All the Marriage Counselors toldWomen’s Health:
“These numbers—and the divorce initiation gap—don’t prove that men are happier in marriage.
“But they do suggest that women are more willing to do something about it if they are unhappy.”
Doyle explains that this could be down to the way men and women are wired.
Women routinely evaluate the ups and downs of a relationship whereas men can compartmentalise their problems, meaning one sore point won’t overshadow an entire relationship.
She explains: “Men will continue to try to make their partners happy, even if they’re not succeeding.”
