Well this is a very canny bit of marketing if nothing else.
In the same week that Liverpudlians lambasted Morrisons for a job advert asking for working-class northern folk, as long as they weren’t from Merseyside, Asda have moved quickly to redress the balance.
In a move that some will welcome and others will see as pure opportunism, Asda FM are holding a casting call for a new presenter. But there’s one major qualification – auditionees must be from Liverpool.
As the ad reads:
‘At Asda FM we want to celebrate scousers everywhere. We’re on the hunt for the next Asda FM presenter and there’s only one requirement…they have to be scouse!’
If you’re of the Merseyside persuasion and fancy a go at supermarket broadcasting, the full details are on the Asda website, the wily marketing clever-clogs.
