The actor admitted to being ‘broken’
Johnny Depp has declared he is a “victim of domestic violence” during the ongoing legal battle between himself and ex-wife Amber Heard.
While Piers Morgan has branded Depp, 58, and ex-wife Heard, 36, as “dreadful narcissists”, the former couple are continuing to fire shots off whilst in court in Fairfax, Virginia. The Alice in Wonderland star wrapped up his testimony on April 25, leaving a bucket of accusations at Heard’s feet.
One instance saw Depp admit that he’s a “victim of domestic violence.”
An audio recording was played to the court, who heard Heard say: “Tell the world Johnny, tell them I Johnny Depp, a man, am a victim too of domestic violence.”
“Yes, I am,” replied Depp, having previously spoken on the strange rules Heard allegedly imposed upon their marriage.
The court also heard descriptions of an emotional incident between the pair where Depp reportedly begged heard to cut him with a knife.
“I was quite confused I’d been summoned to her at that point since all the news was about the fact I’d allegedly done all these horrible things,” Depp said when probed as to why he was allegedly threatening to cut himself. “I met with her in the hope she would retract her lies that the world was now fed, had been fed. In no way was she ready to do that. I couldn’t understand why I was there.
“Everything had been taken from me. My children couldn’t escape the fact all this had gone down,” the movie star added.
Depp continued to say that he believed Heard brought him to the meeting in San Francisco “under false pretences” – but didn’t know “what she was after.”
He added: “I had a knife in my pocket. I took the knife out and said ‘here, cut me’.”
He argued that he had nothing left besides his blood, and that “I was broken and really at the end.”
