The creators of the 1990s X-Men cartoon are trying to get Disney to bring the show back

It seems like every TV show from the 1990s is getting resurrected at the moment

The X-Files, Rosanne, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Full House, and Animaniacs are just some of the shows that have either comeback recently, or are slated to. So what if the 1990s X-Men cartoon joined that list?

Well, it could be a possibility. Ahead of a cast reunion of the show at the Los Angeles Comic Con in October, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the creators of the show have been pitching to Disney about bring the show back.

After buying both Fox and Marvel, the Mouse House now owns the X-Men cartoon, and the team behind the show are “planning on approaching Disney with a pitch for an onscreen continuation of the series”.

“The one thing we’d like to do more than anything else is to continue where we left off,” X-Men artist Larry Houston told The Hollywood Reporter.

The classic X-Men animated series ran for 76 episodes over five seasons, between 1992 and 1997, and before the movies, it was many 90s kids’ introduction to Marvel’s merry mutants.

It also had an impossibly catchy earworm of a theme tune.

In Japan, however, they replaced the opening with something even more badass.

SHOCK!
