It’s coming back. You and your mates up for it?
Ah, The Crystal Maze. A stalwart of early morning TV for anyone that was raised in the ’90s and since being relaunched, it has entertained a whole new generation.
Truth be told, we love it all. The sets, the traps, the mystery, the blind panic when the time’s about to run out. It’s enthralling TV.
Well, if you want to experience The Crystal Maze for yourself, now is the perfect time. Go on, we know you want to. Do you know anyone that watches the show and says to themselves ‘I would have completed that task’ while screaming at the TV?
Good news then because Channel 4 have announced that there will be new episodes of The Crystal Maze. The brilliant Richard Ayoade will once again guide the intrepid explorers through four challenging zones as they collect crystals to exchange for time in the iconic Crystal Dome. The upcoming batch of programmes feature seven more teams of everyday adventurers hoping to “crack the crystal”, including a posse of midwives, a group who met on jury service, a team who became friends at deaf school and an AC/DC tribute band from Newcastle.
Aside from the ‘normal’ episodes of the show, there’s also going to be six celebrity specials in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.
If you fancy being on the show, the application process opens on Tuesday 23rd January and they’re looking for teams of five contestants. Do you and your mates have what it takes to navigate a path through the fiendish mazes? All the relevant details can be found here.
