A cryptic image posted by the directors of Avengers: Infinity War has fans losing their minds

Rudi Kinsella

This is driving fans up the wall.

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are a funny bunch.

Infinity War came to cinemas in early 2018, and since then fans of the MCU have not stopped speculating as to what might happen next in the series.

We fall into this category, and have suggested a number of theories ourselves.

Some are sensible and based on loads of evidence from a number of movies in the series, and some are a bit less well-researched…

Which brings us to the most recent phenomenon for Marvel-obsessed fans.

Anthony and Joseph Russo, the creators of Avengers: Infinity War, have posted a cryptic picture on social media that is driving fans up the wall.

They posted an image of Jo Russo sitting in a chair on a film set.

On the surface, there really shouldn’t be any more to the image, but the caption is what is throwing people.

The Russo brothers are urging fans to “Look hard…” at the image, and that is exactly what we are doing…

Nothing really jumps out at you, but a number of people are trying to suggest that the equipment in the image spells out a word that could hold all of the answers in the Marvel Universe.

One eagle-eyed theorist noticed a piece of equipment that has been seen in movies in the past, which may be the device that is going to undo the damage done by Thanos.

What do you think? Are the ladders and other pieces of equipment spelling out the title of the movie? Or are the Russo brothers just taking the piss out of us fans, knowing that we’ll spend ages trying to dissect a picture for no reason…

We’ll find out soon.

No release date has been confirmed for the sequel to Infinity War, but it will be in cinemas in 2019.
