New material from the Foo Fighters is set to arrive before the end of 2017 after it was revealed that the band will spend the majority of the coming year recording material for what will be their ninth studio album.
Dave Grohl and company were recently confirmed as headliners alongside Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Maroon for the BottleRock Napa Valley festival at the end of May.
Dave Graham, CEO of festival organisers Latitude 38, said that it could feasibly be the Foos’ only appearance in the coming year (in the US) as they’ll be busy recording new material throughout 2017.
“The Foo Fighters are in the studio all next year recording a new album and BottleRock may be their only show in 2017 in North America,” Graham said when promoting the festival in an interview with the Napa Valley Register.
News of new Foo Fighters material comes less than a year after reports that the band were going on ‘hiatus,’ reports that prompted a hilarious response from the band to confirm that they were absolutely not splitting up.

The new material, when it does arrive, is definitely something to look forward to and if the band want to stop by Ireland when they are touring again, they’ll be more than welcome.
