The actress says she finds it “difficult” to watch the show now.
Former Corrie star Sally Lindsay says she no longer watches the hit soap because the show is so different from when she appeared on it.
The actress who played Shelley Unwin on the soap from 2001 until 2006, says watching the show is like “looking back at an old place of work”.
“I don’t actually watch Corrie,” she told The Mirror.
“It’s difficult watching it as it’s changed so much.”
And while many have suggested the actress’ lack of interest in the show is down to the violent storylines it’s become known for in recent months, Sally says that’s not the case.
“The dark storylines happened when I was there. We got 20 million viewers doing it with Richard, and that was gruesome.”
Addressing the negative feedback the show has gotten from viewers as of late, Sally says there will always be people who don’t like that type of content.
“People will always moan – it’s too violent or it’s not violent as it should be.
“If people didn’t want it, they wouldn’t make it. So, there’s obviously a need for it.”
Sally left Corrie back in 2006 after a highly talked-about storyline where her character Shelley was being abused by her controlling partner, Charlie Stubbs.
