Throughout Game of Thrones history, we’ve seen some formidable soldiers and warriors. For example, Ser Arthur Dayne was able to take on four knights at once – including Ned Stark – and successfully manage to beat the living hell out of them.
Elsewhere, The Mountain has never been defeated in combat and he can squash your head with a single blow. Poor Oberyn.
What about the King in the North, Jon Snow? Not only can he come back from the dead, but he can also shatter one of the Night King’s generals into a million shards of ice.
All things considered, Game of Thrones is a world that’s populated by brutal killers. The Hound put it best when he said to Sansa : “Stannis is a killer. The Lannisters are killers. Your father was a killer. Your brother is a killer. Your sons will be killers someday. The world is built by killers… so you better get used to looking at them.”
Would you believe Ed Sheeran as a bloodthirsty killer?
Hell, Ed has nothing on another killer, Arya Stark. We already knew that she was deadly with a sword, Meryn Trant and Walder Frey will testify to that, but her latest act of revenge at The Twins somehow managed to even top those two brutal kills.
After doing so, Arya headed straight back onto the road where she bumped into Sheeran as the singer made his highly-publicised cameo.
In the brief scene, Arya is heading to King’s Landing to kill the Queen but she happens to stumble across a group of Lannister soldiers in the wild. As Arya approaches them, she overhears Sheeran singing a song that was originally sang by Tyrion to Shae in the novels.
Musical appearances aren’t uncommon in Game of Thrones – Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody, Sigur Rós, Mastodon and Coldplay’s Will Champion have all appeared – but they were weren’t quite as prominent as Sheeran.
After seeing the episode, plenty of people were thinking the same thing.

As for the performance itself, well…
