We’ve all watched The Great British Bake Off, even if we pretend not to.
The X Factor of cooking shows has won over many a discerning TV watcher, but all that good work could soon be undone as a SCANDAL has gripped the programme.
With finalists Nadiya, Tamal and Ian poised for the bake to end all bakes, it has emerged that BBC employees have been betting thousands of pounds on the outcome of the pre-recorded show.
The Sun reports claims from bookmaker Ladbrokes that those with connections to the channel have set up betting accounts to wager on the identity of the winner.
The Great British Bake Off is one of a number of TV shows for which Ladbrokes has offered odds, along with the likes of The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing, though it has now been removed from the bookmaker’s website.
A spokesperson for the BBC has stated that the organisation has “no knowledge” of the claims in question.
