On a scale of 1-10 of being p*ssed off, Idris Elba is at 10 on the subject of James Bond.
The actor, who has been tipped to be the next 007, would really like it if we all quit quizzing him about the franchise.
“I’m so done talking about James Bond,” he said. “It will be the will of the nation. Luther however…”
Elba, who launched his new Superdry clothing range in London, spent hours in the store meeting fans and signing autographs on the day of the launch. The store opened at noon and it wasn’t long before the doors had to be closed on the throng of fans queueing.
We went along and it required sharp elbows…
Although Elba is done talking Bond, he’ll happily discuss the new clothing range he helped design and his Luther and ‘Murdah Loves John’ – a perspective album on his John Luther character.
“I’m passionate about clothes and think I know how men want to look,” he says. “It’s a 24-hour collection; clothing guys can feel great in from day to night.”
On the album, he added: “I hope everyone likes it, when you put it in your car, I want people to feel like they’re driving around to a soundtrack that reminds you of the UK, London especially.”
Radio 1’s Annie Mac rates it. She named its title track featuring Skepta and London singer Tanika as her hottest record in the world today.
