The sequel to one of the most important documentaries ever made looks essential

Conor Heneghan

The original won an Oscar and has featured as part of the science curriculum in schools worldwide.

Plot’s it all about? 2006 saw the release of An Inconvenient Truth, a documentary about the attempts of former US vice-president Al Gore to warn the world about global warming and the impact of climate change on the environment.

Winner of an Oscar for Best Documentary, it helped open the eyes of millions of people around the world who were either unaware or ignorant of the potential implications of climate change around the globe.

Just over ten years on, Gore continues to campaign on the issue and was an influential figure behind the Paris agreement that came into effect on November 2016.

With the most powerful man on the planet in complete denial of the impact of global warming, however, it’s clear that Gore still has some work to do.

If it’s anything like the original, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth To Power, will be a must-watch.
