I’ve got exactly 17 minutes to write this week’s introduction
Yes, believe it or not there is a hard deadline for the JOE Friday Pub Quiz. Well, hard in the same way that a hard-boiled egg is. It’s not really hard, is it? You can chuck a hard-boiled egg at a toddler and probably get away with a suspended sentence.
Okay, that joke wasted six minutes, the majority of which was spent looking up whether throwing hard-boiled eggs at toddlers is illegal. It is. Don’t be throwing eggs at toddlers.
It’s now 11 minutes until the deadline.
While needlessly researching the legalities of chucking eggs at children, I discovered that in Brazil it was traditional to pelt people with eggs and flour on their birthday, the idea being to make a cake on their head.
In fact, you can see Neymar demonstrating this on fellow Brazilian Philippe Coutinho during training at the 2018 World Cup.
It is now 5 minutes until the deadline.
At this point I should shut up about eggs and have someone check this over, because there’s every chance my brain has snapped under the pressure and I’ve come out with a stream of egg-based nonsense. But I couldn’t possibly comment.
