Four years after his initial video about Donald Trump’s wall, John Oliver has once again torn into the entire concept
Donald Trump has been the US president for almost four years now, and it is entirely possible that we will have another four years of his reign if he is to win the election in November.
Back in 2016, one of Trump’s most infamous campaign promises was that he would ‘Build A Wall’ between America and Mexico.
It was chanted at his rallies, and he even promised that it would be Mexico that would end up paying for the construction of the wall.
Four years later, controversy still surrounds the wall, and TV host John Oliver has made a sequel to his initial video that criticised Trump for suggesting that a wall be built in the first place.
And the only thing that surprises Oliver is that things are somehow worse than he predicted.
He spends over 20 minutes explaining just how corrupt the proceedings that surround the building of the wall have been, and why it sums up Trump’s presidency perfectly.
He says: “This wall is not a functional barrier. If anything, it’s a fucking monument to Trump.
“It’s destructive, pointless, ineffective, racist, weak, and something that the damages of which we’re going to have to be dealing with for a very long time.”
