Leonardo DiCaprio tries to get his climate change message to Donald Trump via the President-elect’s daughter

Every little helps.

Leonardo DiCaprio is on a crusade to save the world from climate change, starting with his charity the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation and his production of a number of documentaries.

The Wolf of Wall Street star’s latest passion project is a climate change documentary called Before the Flood, which has received very positive reviews from critics.

Following a successful relationship with President Obama, DiCaprio is now targeting the the daughter of President-elect Donald Trump.

DiCaprio recently met with Ivanka Trump privately and, according to aides from both parties, the Hollywood star gave a copy of his documentary to Ivanka.

Donald Trump campaigned for the White House as an anti-climate change candidate, and went as far as saying that global warming was a myth created by the Chinese. Back in 2012, he tweeted: ‘The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.’

It’s unclear if Trump genuinely believes his claims or was he spouting this rhetoric to play up to his voter base, but his daughter Ivanka is seemingly the most liberal-leaning member of his family, so Leo picked the right person to give the documentary to.

According to reports from Politico, Ivanka will include climate change as one of her signature issues.

“Ivanka is in the early stages of exploring how to use her spotlight to speak out on the issue,” an unnamed source told Politico.
