The MCU is about to get very weird
The trailer for the long-awaited Disney+ Marvel show WandaVision finally debuted during Sunday night’s Emmy Awards. And it left MCU fans scratching their heads.
The show, as you can probably guess from the title, follows Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany). Though, as you might remember, Vision was actually killed off in Avengers: Infinity War, when Thanos ripped the Time Stone from his head.
The trailer offers no real explanation about how Vision is alive again. But it does give us a whole load of new questions.
It starts with Wanda and Vision seemingly in a 1950s black and white sitcom, living an idyllic suburban life. But then colour starts to fade in, and it switches to widescreen and seems to flash forward through the coming decades.
It marks a big change from the regular superhero hijinks we normally get from the MCU. And it has left fans somewhat confused.

i have so many questions:
how is vision alive and why the mind stone still in his head?
what’s happening with Agatha Harkness?
why was Monica Rambeau thrown out of Wanda’s reality and why was she there in the first place?
since when did Wanda practice reality warping? pic.twitter.com/1TkjGfwRhS

Apart from the whole ‘stuck in the TV thing’, there’s a lot else take in.
For instance, we see a grown-up version of Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), who appeared as a child in Captain Marvel. It looks like she gets zapped into this world somehow, but we still don’t know how she’ll fit into the WandaVision.
We also get Vision and Scarlett Witch in much more comics-accurate costumes. They look somewhat homemade, so they could just be Halloween costumes or something. They are still pretty cool though.
Also, there is a glimpse of the great Kathryn Hahn, dressed as a witch (fitting in with the Halloween costume theme), who informs Vision that he is dead, and then cackles. Is this all happening in the afterlife? Is this going to be the MCU version of Lost?
We are as confused as you. We would say however that WandaVision does seem to be taking a lot of influence from the 2015 Vision comics series by Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta, which featured Vision trying to live a normal life in the suburbs, and is one of the best things Marvel has ever published.
