PICS: The twins who played Ross’ son in Friends have really changed

Ben Kenyon

Times change and people get older – it’s a part of life.

So why are we all so fascinated to see what TV stars from back in the day look like now?

Maybe it’s the morbid curiosity with seeing the ravages of age laid bare – like in the case of former Eastenders actor Jack Ryder.

Or perhaps it’s the astonishing transformations of on-screen stars going from scrawny kids to ripped adults – like the kid off Jerry Maguire –  that captures the imagination

Though in the case of the guy who played cake-gobbling upstart Bruce Bogtrotter in Matilda, it’s the sheer ‘that can’t actually be him now’ factor.

Whatever it is, the human freakshow that is the internet has thrown up another case to gawp and marvel at. Well two actually.

The twins who played Ross’ son Ben in Friends (and also the kid in Big Daddy) have grown up a bit since the 90s.

Cole and Dylan Sprouse, who went on to star in The Suite Life Of Zack and Cody, are instantly recognisable still, but Cole has opted for a completely different look for his latest role.

The 23-year-old, who graduated from New York University along with his brother last year, has landed a role in US TV series Riverdale.

Cole will play Jughead Jones in the Archie comics adaptation, and from the looks of it, it’s a new direction for him.

As for Dylan, he’s also still in the acting game. IMDB says he’s set to star in a drama called Dismissed about ‘an idealistic, straight-edge teacher is drawn down a horrid rabbit hole by an honours student who’s willing to do anything for an A.’

Here he is pictured hanging out in the Bounty kitchen roll aisle down the supermarket.

What a lovely pair of lads. We wish them well.
