Oops.
Prue Leith has done the unthinkable when it comes to The Great British Bake Off – she has just tweeted congratulations to the winner ahead of the final tonight.
How? You ask. We have no idea.
The new judge of the show sent the accidental tweet earlier today. Don’t worry, we have no intention of spoiling the show here so we have taken out the winner’s name.
She said, “No one told me judging a #gbbo final would be so emotional. I wanted them all to win. Bravo [winner’s name].”
The tweet has since been deleted but not before people spotted it and reacted to it. Even a high profile journalist went as far as quote tweeting it for everyone else to see.
But, it does beg the question, how did she manage to make such a huge mistake? The likelihood is that she was actually trying to time tweets for later tonight but sent them out ahead of schedule.
Another explanation has been given by the Press Association who have said the time difference between Bhutan, where she currently is, and the UK threw her off.
Prue Leith told @PA she is "in too much of a state" to talk about the tweet and she sent it at the wrong time because she is in Bhutan 🙁

They reached out to Prue to understand what happened and they said she is in too much of a state to talk about it.
