Madeley is reported to pocket £200,000
Despite having to leave the I’m a Celeb camp after just four days due to medical reasons, journalist Richard Madeley will still receive his six-figure appearance fee.
With the combination of medical reasons and breaking the covid bubble, the Good Morning Britain host had to exit I’m A Celebrity on November 25. However, it has now been confirmed that Madeley, 65, will still receive his £200,000 paycheque despite not sticking around until the end of the show.
Madeley will collect the full fee despite his early exit, with the Sun suggesting that he will be paid in full due to the reasoning being out of his hands.
Madeley was taken to hospital in the early hours of Thursday and made a public statement via his Instagram later that day.

He wrote: “Hello all! Richard here – firstly just to say that I’m absolutely FINE.
“I started to feel briefly unwell in the small hours of the morning and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
“By leaving the camp, I had consequently broken the covid’ bubble’ and as such I’ve had to leave the castle and all the wonderful celebs that remain in the camp.
“Obviously I’m gutted to be leaving so soon but the safety of all the campmates is the number one priority.
“I’m incredibly excited to watch their journey continue… even more so at the prospect of being somewhere a little warmer than Gwrych Castle.
“Thank you to everyone who supported me on my brief but completely unforgettable adventure – I’ve made some great friends and honestly had the time of my life. Speak soon, Richard x.”
Meanwhile, with other stars like Arlene Phillips and DJ Naughty Boy also seeking medical attention, bosses at ITV fear a mass exodus of this year’s stars.
