Rick and Morty producers share new footage (probably) from season four

No one is quite sure what the footage is from

A new series of Rick and Morty is on its way – we know that 70 new episodes of the hit show have been ordered, and are already in production.

The thing that we don’t know though is when they are actually coming. Neither the show’s producers nor Adult Swim have given us any indication at a possible release date.

However, the official Rick and Morty Twitter account did just share some new footage, out of the blue.

The best guess would be that is a trailer for season four, but there’s no text or caption to indicate this.

It is done in a different animation style to the regular series, and has Rick and Morty as amoebas, underwater creatures, and even Godzilla and Mothra.

It ends with a close-up of the eyepatch-wearing Evil Morty.

And while this is all very exciting, it doesn’t give us any more information on when we are actually getting proper new episodes. And fans have been very vocal about that on social media.

We have had various Rick and Morty content appear since season three finished – including a Run The Jewels music video, a strange Australian-themed mini-episode, and even a birthday song for Kanye West.

But still no season four release date.
