SoulTwins: Tune for the Weekend

Nooruddean Choudry

Each week our resident DJs, the Soultwins, select a classic record from their extensive collection to get you in the mood for the weekend…

Suede – Nx Worries (NSFW)

Soultwin Stu:

“I first heard this track when I got an email through from the ever excellent Stones Throw Records – it’s mad just how many different avenues you can find music through these days!

“Anyway, I clicked on the link and was immediately transfixed by what I heard. This track (and video) just wreaks of originality. It’s a soul, but not soul; a hip-hop record, that’s not hip-hop.

“It’s hard to define, but so incredibly easy to listen to.”

Soultwin Jeff:

Stones Throw Records are great at finding independently-minded artists like this and giving them a bigger platform.

“This is one of the freshest and most instantly likeable tracks I’ve heard in a while. The production is so simple, yet works perfectly with Anderson Paak’s pure energy on the video.

“It’s fresh new music at its best. I even forgive him for the hipster-crime of wearing a bow tie…”
