“We can’t just kill everyone!” “That’s exactly what we are going to do!”
The trailer for the second season of Amazon’s great superhero satire The Boys in here, and it is just as crazy and violent as you’d expect.
Karl Urban and the rest of his superhero-hunting crew return, but now there is a deadly new villain – or technically, hero – for them to confront.
Stormfront is played by Aya Cash from You’re the Worst, and appears to have some sort of flying and electricity powers. She squares up to Homelander – the evil Superman analog of The Boys universe – and preaches to a crowd about creating a whole army of superpeople. And anyone who watched season one of The Boys will know that can’t be a good thing.
Also, we get the most important thing we want from The Boys: crazy violence. Blood splatters, bodies explode, and Billy Butcher threatens to kill a whole load of people.
And in the trailer’s most jaw-dropping scene, the crew face off against The Deep (Chace Crawford), the Aquaman of The Boys‘ world. It ends with them colliding with a giant beached whale, and it does not skimp on the gore.
Amazon has actually released that entire clip as well:
The official synopsis for season two reads:

As Vought, the company that manages the heroes, cashes in on the panic over the threat of Supervillains, and a new hero, Stormfront, shakes up the company and challenges an already unstable Homelander.
The Boys season two starts on Amazon on September 4 with a three-episode premiere, followed by new episodes every Friday. Season three has already been greenlit, and if you want even more
