In this day and age it’s hardly a revelation to say that there are as many people watching new movie releases in the comfort of their own homes as there are actually going to watch them in the cinema.

Thankfully, the box office earnings would suggest that plenty of people are still going to the cinema to watch movies, but the appeal of a big screen, a comfy seat and a box of popcorn isn’t enough to stop people from downloading them at home either.

TorrentFreak has posted its annual list of the most downloaded movies on BitTorrent in 2016 (irrespective of release dates) and while they excluded estimates about the number of downloads due to difficulties posed by “various changes in the torrent index/tracker landscape,” they did say that number one was a clear winner.

No major surprises in here, but have you seen all of them (legally or illegally) yet?
