Taking time out from his numerous mud-slinging matches with Piers Morgan on Twitter, this week saw Lord Alan Sugar debut candidates for the upcoming series of The Apprentice.
Series 12 of the reality television show comes to the BBC on October 6, and from the looks of things, the show will be bringing back its usual mix of very confident people making some very silly decisions.
Eighteen brave people, who have never looked up the definition of hubris, will be entering the boardroom this year, looking to face Lord Sugar, Karen “Don’t mention the new stadium” Brady and Claude “I will destroy your CV” Littner in the hope of securing a £250,000 investment towards their new business.
A lovely bunch of people with (probably) more guts than sense.
The BBC have kindly profiled all 18 candidates for the new series, but our early picks include Aleksandra King, a 38 year old business consultancy owner who can speak cat (!!). Her big quote is… well…
Aleksandra fears tidal waves and volcanoes, but not hurricanes? Interesting ranking of natural disasters there.
Also worth a look is 33 year old Karthik Nagesan. From Northamptonshire, Karthik runs an IT consulting company. His hero is Alexander the Great, which is something comic book baddies say.
We like him. He once said, “If I wanted to be like everyone else, I’d have waxed my monobrow.” You can’t knock that sort of self confidence.
The *next* unicorn? We didn’t even know there was an original one mate.
It all kicks off on October 6 with an episode that will see our candidates buying and selling antiques and furniture at various locations across London. As The Telegraph reports, team names this year will be “Titans” (for the men), and “Nebula” for the women.
We can’t wait. Lord Sugar, give us a few triple firings.
