The new trailer for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword has some epic action

Paul Moore

The legend comes to life.

Given that Guy Ritchie’s recent films have been The Man from U.N.C.L.E and Sherlock Holmes, it’s only fitting that the English director is now focusing on breathing new life, death and fire into one of the truly iconic and mythical British figures, King Arthur.

The director of Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels has clearly been influenced by The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones because his new epic fantasy action adventure King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, had gone big on the spectacle, fights and set-pieces.

Oh yeah, we also get Led Zeppelin.

Charlie Hunnam is the man who’s going to take on the classic Excalibur myth and the film will trace Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne.

Plot’s it all about?: When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.

Starring: Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou , Aidan Gillen and Eric Bana.

Director: Guy Ritchie.
