The Rock posted a heartfelt tribute to Robin Williams ahead of ‘Jumanji’ remake

"You have my word, we will honour his name"

“A game for those who seek to find a way to leave the world behind.”

Jumanji was one of those movies that we watched countless times growing up, and now The Rock is taking on the remake as both an actor and a producer.

As Johnson said himself, he has big boots to fill.

In case you never saw the 1995 original, Jumanji saw Robin Williams’ Alan Parrish released from a board game played by two kids, after being trapped inside for decades.

The adventure classic is endlessly entertaining and adored by fans, so when the announcement of the remake, set to hit screens in 2017, arrived, there was a lot of skepticism.

The Rock used his Instagram account to reassure everybody that the remake will be top notch (with five stars set to appear, including Kevin Hart), while also paying tribute to Chris Van Allsburg, the award-winning writer of the original film.

The WWE icon, though, had very special words for the late Robin Williams, explaining that he was completely starstruck when the two met for the first time, only for Williams to instantly put him at ease.

Take a look at this great post.

It’s hard to imagine The Rock as a “bumbling idiot”, but if anybody had the ability to cause such a reaction, it would definitely have been Robin Williams.

Anyway, if the new version of Jumanji is just half as good as the original, we’ll be satisfied.
