This sounds amazing! Grab your Game of Thrones pal and make plans.
In every sense of the phrase, winter is here. Not only is the weather colder than a White Walker but Game of Thrones fans are staring into that dark, desolate and depressing period without any new episodes to watch.
Sophie Turner’s recent revelation that Season 8 probably won’t arrive until 2019 didn’t help things but much like The Hound’s hilarious insults, we’ve got something to make you smile during this bleak period.
There’s going to be a major Game of Thrones festival taking place at Quex Park in Birchington, Kent on Sunday, May 20, 2018.
Kristian Nairn, who played Hodor, is confirmed to be attending ThroneFest which is being held at Quex Park in Birchington on Sunday, May 20, 2018.
Truth be told, this sounds like absolute heaven for any Game of Thrones fan because here’s a look at some of the activities.
You can feel what it’s like to the King/ Queen of Westeros because the Iron Throne will be at the event. If you want to see the finest jousting competition since the Tourney at Harrenhal then you’re in luck because there will be a jousting tournament and the combatants have even appeared in Game of Thrones.
Think you have what it takes to wield a sword or wear a crown? If so, you’ll definitely want to handle some of the replica props from the show which include Ayra Stark’s ‘Needle’, Joffrey’s crown, house shields, and helmets.
If you think you’re deadlier than Jon Snow with a bow, why not try your hand at some archery?
Ok, this all sounds great but what about the chance to meet some of the cast members?
As stated on the official ThroneFest website, Kristian Nairn (Hodor) will be attending the event but he’s not alone.
Miltos Yerolemou (Syrio Forel) will also be there and the organisers are currently negotiating with the contracts for Tom Wlaschiha (Jaquen Hagar) and Tommen Baratheon (Dean Charles-Chapman) .
Tickets for ThroneFest are on sale now and they vary in price. At present, a standard adult ticket costs £18 and more information can be found here.
