It’s one of the sequels we’ve been looking forward to the most, and now it seems as though Trainspotting 2 will definitely happen.
Ewan McGregor, star of the 1996 original, had gone on record as saying a sequel 20 years on would “make sense”.
And now director Danny Boyle has confirmed one of the worst-kept secrets around.
“All the four main actors want to come back and do it. Now it is only a matter of getting all their schedules together,” Boyle told Deadline.
There will need to be some careful preparation, though, as Robert Carlyle and Johnny Lee Miller, who played Begbie and Sick Boy respectively in the original, are both involved in major US television series.
