Danny Boyle is one of the greatest directors but he knows what an almighty job he has on his hands with Trainspotting 2.
It’s been almost 20 years since the cult original was released, and the filmmaker is nervous.
Feeling the pressure, Boyle admitted: “Obviously it’s worrying because people will kill us if we made a bad job of it. I will get absolutely crucified.”
The film, which is due to begin in Edinburgh this week, is off to a decent start; all the original crew are back on board, including Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle and Jonny Lee Miller.
Boyle added: “But you have to thrive on that potential danger within it and if it feeds into it, you might get a decent film out of it you know.”
