It almost sounds too good to be true – but, thankfully, it isn’t.
Italian confectionary company Ferrero, the folks who make Nutella, are on the hunt for taste testers to try out their products.
In fact, they are looking for 60 of them.
There are two main requirements for the role of ‘sensorial judges’:
1: You love chocolate and hazelnuts (which, if you’ve gotten this far, we’d imagine you already do).
2: You’d have to be willing to travel to the company’s lab in Alba in northern Italy.
And, more seriously, it is also important that you don’t have allergies and feel comfortable using a computer.
So far, so good, right? Well, it gets even better.
According to The Local, there’s no experience required if you’re thinking of applying for one of the positions, which are open to the public for the first time ever.
The salary is “competitive” but the job is for only four hours a week, spread over two days – so it is “compatible with other jobs”.
The publication reports that the 60 chosen candidates will start on 30 September, with a three-month course to develop their senses of taste and smell.
They will also learn the correct terminology to put their tasting experience into words. From there, 40 judges will be “skimmed off” – resulting in two tasting panels.
Thinking of applying? The job advertisement was published on OpenJob Metis on behalf of Soremartec Italia srl – and you can find it here.
