Imagine being arrested and detained for four months because police found a substance in your car that they believed to be crystal meth, which was in fact salt.
This has happened to man, identity unknown, from Maryborough, Queensland in Australia.
It took four months for forensic testing to be completed and for authorities to conclude he was not carrying around methyl amphetamine, but a dinner condiment.
It has been reported “the length in jail time could have likely been attributed to the man’s previous criminal convictions. As soon as authorities confirmed what the substance really was, all charges were dropped, and he was released”.
