A shocking amount of Brits admit to sabotaging a friend’s relationship

The biggest reason for it is even worse...

Ben Kenyon

It seems Britain has a massive case of the green-eyed monster.

Does nobody read the Bible any more? We’re pretty sure there’s a bit in it that says ‘thou shalt not covet thy neighbours wife’ and definitely not his ox or his donkey, you perv.

A new study shows nearly one third of Brits have previously tried to sabotage a friend’s relationship – with the majority doing so on the sly.

The research by Voucher Codes Pro, found that a quarter of these had contributed to the relationship’s demise using fake social media profiles.

The top reasons why Brits had pulled some Machiavellian sh*t on their friends’ love life were quite incredible:

  1. I had romantic feelings for my friend’s partner – 41%
  2. I didn’t like the way my friend’s partner treated them – 33%
  3. I had romantic feelings for my friend – 23%
  4. They didn’t suit each other – 18%
  5. I wanted my friend to be single again – 11%

These sneaky devils then revealed how they had secretly stuck the boot in on the happy couple.

More than 25% sent their pals crashing on the rocks by creating a fake social media profile while a further 24% just went down the old school, tried and tested ‘sh*t stirring’ route by making up rumours to cause tension in the relationship.

Around one fifth just went straight in there by making a move on their friend’s partner while 19% revealed they faked texts from their mate’s missus.

Finally, one in 10 went super sleuth and followed their pal’s other half to see if they were up to any monkey business which might be damaging to them.

Amazingly three quarters of those saboteurs said their mates had never found out about their cloak and dagger deeds.
