When Stacey Eden saw a fellow commuter verbally abusing a woman in Islamic dress, she wasn’t prepared to let it slide.
Challenging the middle-aged woman, whose tirade attacked the victim’s clothes and made reference to beheadings and violence in Syria, Stacey filmed the encounter and got the perpetrator to back down.

Friends and strangers rushed to praise Stacey, from Sydney, and she showed her gratitude on her Facebook page.
“Thank you to all who have commented the video or sent me private messages of thanks, and love,” she said. “I didn’t realize how something so small would end up becoming so important.”
